What was I thinking when I painted Fred, the black and tan dachshund? Let’s see…
It’s raining outside, pouring the proverbial cats and dogs, Fred is watching his human put on their raincoat, struggle with their wellington boots and pick up Fred’s custom made rain jacket with detachable hood.
“no chance” Fred thinks, he doesn’t move, he stays still, his eye following his human around the room as they get ready to venture out.
Fred’s human glances over and is about to call out to Fred that it’s time for ‘walkies’ when they catch the eye of Fred at this exact moment.
Fred’s human doesn’t say anything, instead, they turn and reach back to put Fred’s lead and coat back on its hook and slowly removes their own rain coat…
Fred was invited for a 5 month residency in the front window of Selfridges from March to July 2025, he’s available in many English Heritage shops aswell as Waterstones on greeting cards published by the art file.
If you’d like him on your wall he’s available as a framed canvas print in my shop too.
