Shop Cats is an original hand-painted watercolour and ink illustration, full of the quiet chaos of a small independent shop where the staff have clearly been outnumbered. A tabby sleeps in the display basket as though it were put there for her. A ginger cat is attempting to operate the till. A black cat has vanished headfirst into a delivery box, one is swinging off the pendant lamp, and another is batting stock across the floor, while a white cat keeps an eye on the whole situation from the top of the shelves, having decided it's someone else's problem.
Painted in rich inky blues, raspberry pinks and warm golds, with bunting, greeting cards, patterned boxes and a leafy monstera tucked into every corner, it's a painting that rewards a second look (and a third, and a fourth, when you realise there's a cat you missed).
